Certification Kosher
Coffee is a natural product, and therefore coffee beans without additives presents no problem for the Kosher certificate and can be consumed throughout the year including the Passover period.
Nonetheless, even the coffee beans are packaged under rabbinical control and the package bears the certification symbol.
The same Certification can be Kosher Parve’ i.e. for the whole year with the exception of Passover, or the double certification valid both for the whole year and for Kosher Passover.
As far as coffee machines are concerned, even for home use, observant Jews proceed, before Passover, with a deep cleaning similar to that of the production process of any other machine that produces Kosher products, i.e. stopped for 24 hours before production and the passage of boiling water through the pipes.
As regards the various types of coffee capsules, the production process takes place strictly under surveillance to check that no other beans are introduced into the coffee, which are prohibited during Passover.
There are many Italian Kosher products that are requested by those who follow and appreciate the Kosher diet.
